We all know that prevention is always far much better than cure. We try to educate our women various prevention measures to help reduce preventable diseases. We help them know that diseases like dysentery and typhoid can be prevented by following proper health guidelines and practices. Many girls especially from poor families have a hard time going to school during menstruation since they cannot afford expensive sanitary towels. Most families are torn between buying sanitary towels and food. This is a very tough choice to make since both are very important. We working to try and get funds to buy these girls sanitary towels and thus keep them in school.
Health is IHOPEE’S main goal. Many people lose their lives due lack of money for screening of various illnesses, which can be prevented if detected on time. Our health team, led by one of our own team member, Dr Aduma, will be going to Kenya this November, together with a team of nursing to assist help people from disadvantaged areas. They’re intending to do screening and treatment of illnesses such as malaria, typhoid and similar illnesses. They also intend to do prenatal care if possible. All those involved in the medical mission, are doing it voluntarily and are totally depending on donations from friends tandem well wishers. We are currently accepting donations from all parties who may be interested in making an impact in the lives of the less fortunate amongst us.
